A fun and inspiring Imaginarium Summer Workshop in London with Madelon Vriesendrop, Eric Wong, Edmund Tan, Luke Angers and CJ Lim. The workshop focuses on unconventional creative methodologies – recycling assemblage, drawing storyboards and animating narratives – designed to cultivate imagination and conceptualisation | daily tutorials | visit to Madelon Vriesendrop’s studio | portfolio show-and-tell from CJ Lim-taught alumni to demonstrate design excellence and innovation | 28 July–18 August 2024 | 15 teaching & learning days | 2–3 students per group project | tuition fee on application | ideal for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and individuals planning to apply for university-level courses in subjects including architecture, interior design, landscape, urban design, fine arts, graphics, illustration, and animation | takes place at St Mary’s Studio in West Hampstead, London.

Madelon Vriesendrop is an artist, illustrator, painter, and sculptor. She would often create illustrations and graphics for OMA; her painting ‘Flagrant Delit’(1978) is the cover image for ‘Delirious New York’, written by Rem Koolhaas. ’The World of Madelon Vriesendorp’ was a 40-year retrospective exhibition of her career, originated at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London, and then toured to Aedes, Berlin; the Venice Biennale of Architecture; and finally the Swiss Architecture Museum, Basel. Her works are featured in various public art collections including Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) New York, and the FRAC Centre.

Eric Wong is an illustrator, architect and has worked with Oscar-nominated Director Mamoru Hosoda as the concept artist and production designer for the award-winning Japanese anime feature film ‘Belle’ (2021) where he designed an entire virtual world known in the film as U. His works have been widely published and exhibited.

Edmund Tan is an animator, visual artist and architect. His works have been internationally featured in the London Art Biennale, Singapore Architecture Festival , Suzhou Museum, Urban Cross Gallery Shanghai and Tatler Asia.

Luke Angers is an animator, author and architect. He has a long-standing interest in the spatial narratives of urbanism and landscape. He is the co-author of the bestseller ‘Dreams + Disillusions’ (2024).

CJ Lim is a transformative educator, a creative influencer and has authored 12 books including ‘Dreams + Disillusions’ (2024) which continues his interest in the creative magic of imagination.
